From May 15th to 16th, 2024, the highly anticipated Spring Meeting of IEC/TC37 Working Group 14 was held in the ancient capital of Xi'an for the first time. This event was hosted by Xi'an High Voltage Apparatus Research Institute Co., Ltd.(XIHARI) and co-organized by Xi'an Tiangong Electric Co., Ltd.(TGE)
This meeting brought together technical experts, scholars and industry leaders in the global lightning protection field to discuss the cutting-edge technologies and development trends in the field of power system lightning protection. During the two-day agenda, participants discussed in-depth exchanges and discussions on topics such as standard development and revision, technological innovation, industry challenges and solutions.
Xi 'an Tiangong Electric Co., LTD., as an advanced manufacturer of MOV, invited the IEC working group to visit TGE factory after the meeting. The new high performance MOV production line, the leading R&D center and the testing center, all demonstrate its outstanding strength in technological innovation, product development and manufacturing, they were highly recognized and praised by the IEC working group.
This IEC international meeting not only promoted in-depth exchanges and knowledge sharing in the field of lightning protection, but also injected strong new impetus into the development of lightning protection in the power system. With the close cooperation and joint efforts of all parties, this event will undoubtedly lays a solid foundation for the future development and promote the rapid progress of the whole industry.
